Headline – Spencer Jones

Spencer is a comedian, actor, and writer, who has been nominated twice for the Edinburgh Comedy Award and for multiple BAFTAs.

Spencer’s BBC Comedy Short, THE MIND OF HERBERT CLUNKERDUNK – which he wrote the music for, starred in and wrote – received rave reviews and a BAFTA nomination for Best Short Form Programme. Watch it here. Following the success of the short, the BBC commissioned a four part series of THE MIND OF HERBERT CLUNKERDUNK. The series aired on BBC Two in August 2019,and was quickly commissioned for a second second series which aired in January 2022. Both received equally rapturous reviews.

Spencer created, wrote and directed several episodes of the brand new comedy series DEEP FAKE NEIGHBOUR WARS – which landed on ITVX on the 26th January 2023. Using Deep Fake technology, the show turns the UK’s best new impressionists into the world’s most famous celebrities – only here they are ordinary people who happen to be embroiled in petty silly neighbour disputes.

In 2020, Spencer played the title role of Leslie Winner in the six part BBC Two / BBC Studios comedy series, MISTER WINNER, starring alongside Lucy Pearman and Shaun Williamson.

Open – Mike Gunn

On TV, he’s performed on BBC One’s Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, and The World Stands-Up and The Comedy Store for Comedy Central. He’s also appeared on Celebrity Deal or No Deal and The Gas on Channel 4; Harry Hill’s TV Burp on ITV, Live at Jongleurs for Channel 5 and Al Murray’s sit-com Time Gentlemen Please for Sky1. As a writer, he has been a regular contributor for The Guardian and has also written for Time Out, The List, The 11 O’clock Show (Channel 4) and Match of The Day Magazine.

MC – Julian Deane

Widely celebrated for his ingenious punchlines, Julian Deane is an award-winning British stand up comedian and writer. Within a few years of starting stand up comedy, he was named Best New Comedian by the Comedy Café in London and won the ITV Stand Up Hero and the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year competitions.

Julian has appeared on The Russell Howard Hour (Sky One) and supported Paul Chowdhry on a world tour, which included Wembley Arena. He is also an in-demand writer, with his credits including Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC Two), Mock the Week (BBC Two), Matt Forde’s Unspun (Dave) and Morgan Spurlock’s New Britannia (Sky Atlantic).

Julian also hosts the Two Vegan Idiots podcast, with fellow comedian Carl Donnelly.

Middle – Kayleigh Jones

Kayleigh Jones is a musical comedian who was nominated for Best Newcomer for the ISH Edinburgh Comedy Award.  She broke into stand-up after reaching the finals of the Musical Comedy Awards in 2022 and quickly established herself on the circuit with appearances at The Comedy Store, The Glee Club, and The Bloomsbury Theatre.
She combines comedy storytelling with “Hilarious songs” (The Reviews Hub), which have been heard on BBC Radio Oxford. Her debut comedy hour won her the Spirit of the Fringe Award and earned her a nomination for Best Debut (Leicester Comedy Festival).
